Overview
Using two types of Radio Frequency to penetrate varying depths of tissue, ACCENT® RF treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anesthetics.
It is estimated that 90% of women 20+years old suffer from varying degrees of cellulite, which presents as a dimpling/orange-peel-like skin.
Contrary to popular belief, this condition is not caused by excess weight as even thin women can have it. In fact, Cellulite is genetic and caused by pockets of fat cells that push up against surrounding fibrous connective tissue.
Until recently, there has been very little that can be done to affect/de-nature cellulite tissue. Although exercise and caffeine-based cellulite creams/injections can temporarily smooth the appearance, they have no affect on the actual fatty deposits that cause this aesthetic problem.
The ACCENT®treatments involve identifying the problem area(s). The treatment provider applies an oil and gently massages the Accent handpiece in the area. At each step the underlying skin temperature is measured using a laser thermometer until therapeutic levels are attained. The treatment feels like a deep warming massage and is not painful. The heated areas usually exhibits slight redness that disappears shortly after the treatment is finished.
