 Professional Reflexology Sessions
Partaking of reflexology sessions is a little bit like partaking of massage: some people will do it as and when they have a specific health concern, and they want the therapeutic benefits.
Others partake of reflexology when they have a particularly high level of stress and tension in their lives (and in their body).
Others have their regular sessions of reflexology as part of their health regimen.
There are also  people who indulge themselves purely for the blissful pleasure of the experience and the profound relaxation that they enjoy after - some as a special treat for themselves on a special occasion, and others as a regular indulgence.

How does Reflexology work?

Reflexology is a complementary holistic healing therapy that works in tandem to support your wellness focused lifestyle. Unlike foot massage, practitioners devote their attention to specific reflex points on the feet. (There are also reflex points in the hands and head but the feet are considered the most effective due to their highly sensitive nature and over 7,000 nerve endings) It is believed that these reflex points correspond to every system, internal organ and gland, in the body. The art of applying pressure using thumb and finger movements (rotating, kneading, rubbing or walking) is thought to cause physiological responses which facilitate changes to occur in the body. For instance, the stimulation that the pressure promotes can improve nerve and blood supply, increase circulation and relax tension. It can also stimulate removal of accumulated toxins and encourage the body to activate its own healing ability. This pressure can stimulate an under-active area or calm an overactive one. Essentially the aim of reflexology is to support the body to be in a state of calm & balance.

Our Certified Reflexology Team

Barbara A. Frigault  C.R.P. Certified Reflexologist (2007) Whitby Grand Spa
I became certified at The Ontario College of Reflexology and the more I studied this amazing practice, the more I wanted to use it. Every client is a new adventure because the response and feedback is always unique to that individual. Although Reflexology has been in use for thousands of years, some people are still unfamiliar with its tremendous benefits. I am also a Physiotherapy Aide and have worked in a local clinic for over four years. I have studied Full Body Relaxation Massage at the Art and Technique Academy as well as a Home Support Exercise Program. As one of my clients I will encourage you to relax, enjoy and don*t be afraid to ask any questions during our time together.

Brenda Robinson  Certified Reflexologist  (2004)   PickeringGrand Spa Location
I graduated from The Holt School of Natural Healing in 2004 as a Certified Reflexologist, and am a member of the Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario. Currently I am working towards certification in Indian Head Massage with The Canadian Center of Indian Head Massage.    I have a strong interest in people's health and well-being and it has been the motivating factor behind my love for Reflexology and other healing modalities.  With my attention to any health concerns and using gentle pressure and massage techniques on the reflexes on your feet, you will experience a deeply relaxing balance of comfort and health care.

Mark Terry Certified Reflexologist. (2003) Pickering Grand Spa Location
I graduated from York University in 1980.  I am also a certified member of the Ontario College of Reflexology as well as the The International Council of Reflexologist since 2003.  Prior to completing the certification program in Ontario, I studied at The Reflexology Institute of Hong Kong in 2001.  I began specializing in Maternity Reflexology and worked in Aurora at The Healing Hands Clinic.  I moved to Toronto and worked with Docere, the Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine, an annex to North York General Hospital.  Today, I am the only certified Reflexologist specializing in Maternity Reflexology in Canada and I am delighted to be part of the Team of The Facial Place.
