Waxing Tips for First Timers

1. YOU CANNOT do any facial waxing if you are using AHA's and Retinols. Discontinue use up to 6 days prior to waxing.

2. Gently exfoliate the skin where you plan to wax one or two days before your appointment. Exfoliating your skin helps the wax grab your hair but not the skin. Having said that DON'T scrub too hard or it will make your skin more sensitive

3.  Let your hair grow. It should be 1/4 inch long. This will make waxing less painful if there is more hair to grab. The exception is with hair on your face which can be shorter.

4. Avoid your "time of the month". Your skin is more sensitive during this time and therefore waxing can be painful.

5. Be sure to tell your esthetician of any allergies or skin issues you have.  

6. Remember to use sunscreen prior to waxing. Waxing sunburned skin is PAINFUL! Also after waxing your skin is new and will burn easily.

7. Wear loose fitting clothes to your appointment. This will help your skin breathe and not rub against your freshly waxed areas.

8. Ensure you have an aloe or fragrance free moisturizer to use after your appointment. This can help with any redness or heat. It's also a good idea to moisturize and hydrate a few days prior, perhaps a soak in the tub to keep your skin subtle. Dry skin can be sensitive to waxing.

9. Pop an aspirin or ibuprofen 45 minutes before your appointment.

10. May we suggest first timers try a Regular Bikini or French Bikini and pass on the Brazilian.

1. We never double dip in our wax pots.
2. Our stainless steel implements are scrubbed, and soaked for 20 minutes in a High Level, Medical Grade Disinfectant.
3. Our nail files, block buffers and foot files are one time use.
4. Our linens are always one time use. They are either disposed of or laundered.
